Economics and Strategy is one of the key academic areas having a link with all post graduate programmes of NITIE. The area combines two broad disciplines, viz. Applied Economics and Strategic Management.
The area faculty members are interested to teach in a wide variety of contemporary courses and teach in the fellow programme, post graduate and executive programmes of the institute.
Faculty members undertake theoretical and empirical research on a large number of inter-disciplinary areas and engage in sponsored research from the industry, government agencies and international organizations. Faculty members regularly contribute in reputed international journals (Scimago, Scopus, ABDC), books, popular media, conferences and seminars.
The area regularly organises Management Development Programmes (MDPs) and Unit based Programmes (UBP) for the working executives for both the public and private sectors. The area has the expertise in offering need based management consultancy in performance evaluation and design of incentive schemes, economic impact analysis and policy evaluation, workforce planning, strategic consultancy, business analytics, quantitative analysis and corporate governance.
