NITIE Mumbai launches new scheme on Independence Day 2020 to reward the meritorious children of teaching and non-teaching staff for their performance in X and XII board examination held in March April 2020


National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE), Mumbai celebrated the 74th Independence Day on 15th August 2020 at NITIE Campus in a grand manner. Flag hosting ceremony done by Prof. Manoj Kumar Tiwari, Director, NITIE at 9.00am on the lawn facing Vihar Lake.

Prof. Manoj Kumar Tiwari, Director, NITIE, presided over the function and inspired the audience by enlightening the importance of Independence Day. He shared his views regarding the COVID-19 and how NITIE handled the major challenges to its academic processes i.e. Online Admission, Examination and now Online Classes, etc.

On this occasion, Prof. Vivek Khanapuri, Dean (SRIC), Prof. Hema Date, Dean (Student Affairs) and Prof. Padmanav Acharya, Dean (Academic), Senior most faculty Prof. D.K. Srivastava and Shri Basavaraj Swamy, Registrar, NITIE, addressed to the audience.

With a view to motivate and encourage the meritorious children of Faculty, Officers, staff for their performance in the 10th / 12th standard Board Examinations held in March/April 2020, a Certificate of appreciation and cash awards distributed by the Director in Old Auditorium immediately after the flag hosting ceremony. Also, a Certificate of appreciation given by the Director in recognition/honour of COVID Warriors to all the Medical Staff and Security Guards.

The programme was well supported by NITIE Faculty, Officers, Staff and their family members, PGP and Fellow Students. Mrs. Nisha Singh, Asstt. Registrar, NITIE hosted the programme and gave the vote of thanks. Program ended with mass singing of National Anthem and distribution of sweets. All the attendees maintained certain preventive measures ie. Social distancing, Wearing of Mask, etc during the programme due to COVID-19.
